CenTex MOAA Purpose


The Central Texas MOAA Chapter (CenTex) promotes the purposes of the national Military Officers Association of America (MOAA), fosters fraternal relations among retired, active duty and former officers and warrant officers of the eight uniformed services and their reserve components, protects the rights and interests of personnel of the seven uniformed services and their dependents and survivors, and provides useful service for members and their dependents and survivors to serve the community and the nation.

On the National MOAA Chapter and Councils page (map background), take these actions to join/renew:

1. Scroll down past the Find Your Closest Chapter and other Headers.
2. Click on the Join or Renew Your Chapter Dues button.
3. Fill in the drop down boxes in order. In the last box, select Central Texas Chapter.

Scholarship Donations

Contributions to the scholarship fund are tax deductible. 


Please print a copy of your PayPal payment receipt and retain it as proof of payment for your taxes.

Monthly Meeting/Reservations


The next scheduled luncheon will be on Friday, 16 May 2025 from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM. We will meet at the Lions Den, 5100 Trimmier Road, Killeen, Texas.  It can be seen from Trimmier Road. Map

Our guest speaker this month is Shannon Gowan with Ronald McDonald House.

Shannon Gowan joined Ronald McDonald House Charities of Temple, Texas, in November 2020 as Executive Director. In this role, she works to forward the mission of the House by bringing those in the community together to support families throughout their child’s healthcare journey.

After graduation from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in public relations and journalism, she moved to Nashville for a decade to work in the country music industry. She worked in radio promotion, concert promotion and production, and artist management.

She moved to Temple in the year 2000 where she was a classroom teacher in TISD and then the Director of Communications & Media Relations for the City of Temple.

After signing in and paying, you will go right through the serving line, get your food, get seated and you are all set.

We will Bless the food after most everyone is seated and eating.

Our menu will be: Penne pasta with vodka sauce,
Grilled lemon herb chicken, Chicken cutlets with mozzarella and fresh basil, Salad, Dessert: Cheesecake and apple pie, tea and water.

The luncheon will begin at 11:30 AM and is $18.00 per person. RSVP below.
