21 February Meeting
Speaker
We have a tremendous
February guest speaker, Julie Mendez, the
Manager of the Fort Cavazos USO.
Julie Mendez joined the USO Fort Cavazos team as
Center Operations Manager in June 2024. Her
global experience comes from her time as the
General Manager of the American Employee
Association at the US Embassy in Kuwait, and the
Community Liaison Officer at the US Embassy
Rome. She also has over ten years’ experience in
Career Coaching and Leadership Development.
The USO focuses on those who need us most: U.S.
Armed Forces active duty, Reserve and Guard
service members, as well as their families. Our
mission is to strengthen the well-being of the
people serving in America’s military and their
families. Since 1941, the USO has strengthened
America's military service members by keeping
them connected to family, home and country,
throughout their service to the nation. From the
moment they join, through their assignments and
deployments, and as they transition back to
their communities, the USO is always by their
side. We are the Force Behind the Forces.
While holding the distinction of being the
largest USO in the world, USO Fort Cavazos
support local military members through
morale-boosting and family-strengthening
programs. Whether it is welcoming visitors to
our centers with a sparkling smile or easing
their journey with a warm meal, our volunteers
lead with their hearts, consistently serve with
respect, and maintain a spirit of thankfulness
and appreciation.
I believe we have all shared great experiences
with the USO both at various installations and
in various countries, and even now as we travel
through various airports that host USO
facilities.
After signing in
and paying, you will go right through the serving line, get your
food, get seated and you are all set.
We will Bless the food
after most everyone is seated and eating.
Please respond as soon as possible using the
Reservations button. RSVPs must be
received by 14 February.
The luncheon will begin at 11:30 AM and is $18.00 per person.

Stay tuned
on this website and to our
Facebook page for more details.
